LED's 7 Best Christmas Gifts for Fitness Fanatics

'Tis the season!

It can be tricky to find the perfect Christmas gift for the fitness fanatic in your life. We have put together our recommended gifts for them this Christmas at three different prices points!

Secret Santa/Stocking filler: £5 - £10

Ah, the office secret Santa. There's probably like 3 people you work with who you could probably put together a funny and thoughtful gift for, but inevitably you end up pulling George in ICT. You can't just re-gift him a bottle of whatever because he doesn't really drink. His body is a temple so a box of chocolates won't go down well either. All he really does is go to the gym like every day. What's the answer? Socks.

Gym socks

Your fitness fanatic can never have too many pairs of socks to match their favourite gym outfit. A pair of white or black crew socks will always go down well. For an extra special gift we recommend giving a pair of tie dye crew socks this year.

Resistance bands

Resistance bands are great and inexpensive gift for everyone from the beginner exerciser to the seasoned gym bunny. These are the perfect gift for that someone across the tea room who always complains about their bad shoulder but never does the exercises on the list their physio gave them.

We recommend therapy resistance bands. These bands are wide and thin and so can easily be wrapped around their hand to shorten length and increase resistance. Your secret Santa will have no issue storing these bands in a drawer and discretely stretching and strengthening their muscles from their desk.

Sometimes gym, sometimes gin: £20 - £25

Our middle tier suggestions are for that special someone who might need a little extra support to start their new year's fitness resolution or your sibling who sometimes goes Exmouth LED but doesn't really take it that seriously. You want to get them a little something, but nothing crazy in case they quit in February.

GymShark Tee

Socks just aren't going to cut it here I'm afraid.  Spend a little more and give a quality tee shirt from fitness giants GymShark. GymShark offer a variety of styles, fits and colours to suit almost everyone. If you aren't sure, we recommend sticking to a regular fit, short sleeved black tee shirt such as these below.

Whey Protein

Buying supplements for the first time can feel like a bit of minefield. The first time I bought whey protein from GNC I bought 4.4kg of store brand unflavoured whey protein which, frankly, tasted like wallpaper plaster and upset my tummy.

Avoid the mistake I made when giving the gift of gains this Christmas with a 1kg bag of Impact Whey Protein from "The UK's favourite brand of protein powder", MyProtein. I recommend the flavour 'Chocolate Smooth'.

There’s simply not another protein powder out there that delivers the same outstanding quality and value. And that’s because it’s created in our own state-of-the-art production facility, where we develop superior products in-house and deliver direct – cutting out the costs to pass the savings onto you.

'Elfy Lifestyle: £50 - £100

These suggestions are for the seasoned LED legend! The keen bean who has a wardrobe full of gym clothing/accessories and kitchen cupboards bursting with protein shaker bottles. You are going to have to go the extra mile to find a gift that leaves you on the nice list this year.

Our first suggestion is to relieve the aches and pains picked up from a tough workout routine with soft tissue therapy or Chiropractic treatment. Soft tissue therapy has many psychological and physiological benefits. From over use injuries, repetitive strains, chronic conditions to sports injuries, many people can benefit from soft tissue therapy. Clients notice a reduction in DOMS, less pain, a greater sense of well being, better range of motion and increased strength.

After a difficult couple of years working from home, in and out of regular exercise regimes some may require specialised treatment, such as treatment from a Physiotherapist or Chiropractor such as our sponsors at Honiton Chiropractic Clinic. Benefits of Chiropractic treatment include:

  • Improved recovery from workouts
  • Increased joint range of motion
  • Tailored rehabilitation advice that could benefit your exercise regime
  • Reduction in pain from certain sports injuries such as tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, some shoulder strains and sprains and general lower back/neck pain.

Honiton Chiropractic Clinic have generously donated an initial consultation and treatment (worth over £50) and a soft tissue therapy voucher from Bodyworx to a lucky reader this Christmas. To enter simply enter your details on the form in the link below. Good luck!

Every fitness fanatic needs a good quality pair of headphones. Whether it's to play their favourite 'pump up' song before a big set or weights or to listen to their regular podcast to get them through a longer session on the stationary bike, they'd be lost without them. Good fitness headphones should be:

  • Wireless: There's nothing worse than wires jumping up in their face whilst on the treadmill or wires getting caught on the handles of the chest press as they adjust the weight between sets.
  • Water resistant: We suggest spending a little more for a pair of water resistance headphones for your loved one. Should the worst happen, and their headphones fall out at the water fountain or even in the changing rooms they will be sure to thank you.

We recommend a pair of Jabra Elite Active 75t Earbuds.
