Our swimming survey says...

We recently surveyed LED members asking for feedback on whether they prefer bookable gym/swim sessions or walk-ins, and the preferred length of gym/swim sessions. We would like to thank every member who took the time to complete this survey.

Our team have carefully considered this feedback, along with qualitative feedback collected from member emails, comment cards and online reviews and have developed new systems for swimming customers across LED.

Survey Results

77% of LED members surveyed prefer booking swimming sessions in advance. The preferred length of swimming sessions is between 45 - 60 minutes.

Exmouth Leisure Centre

Based on your feedback we have decided to keep our bookable sessions in our swimming pool. Many LED members have now made their regular bookable swim slot part of their weekly routine and suggest the commitment of having a booking motivates them to get to the pool even after a tough day at the office.

Booking in advance via the LED Leisure app guarantees members a space whilst the capacity in our pools remain limited.

From 19th July, the basket system will be removed, and we will be reopening our lockers for you to use if you prefer.

Swimming Lessons

From Monday 19th July, our teachers and assistants will start to get back in the pool during lessons. We ask members to respect that some of our teachers may be wearing masks, visors, or continuing to deliver from the poolside for the mean time. With this in mind, we ask parents/guardians to continue to arrive ready to get in the pool, should we need you.

From Monday 19th July we will reopen our viewing gallery so, if you would prefer not to sit on the hot poolside, you are welcome to sit and wait for your children here.

We know some of you love being able to watch your children’s lessons up close, so we will continue to allow one parent on poolside if you’d prefer. Please remember there are strictly no phones allowed to be used on poolside.

We appreciate this is a big jump for some, particularly our Ducklings, so if you’d prefer to stay in the pool with them for the time being we are happy for you to do so!

Please note: Swimming lesson customers must continue to arrive pool-ready. Access into the swimming pool for swimming lessons will remain via the poolside door.

Public & Family Swimming

With the summer holidays imminent, we anticipate lots of new customers will be booking in for a swim and so we have decided to keep our 15 minute gaps between sessions. This is to ensure that we can keep you all as safe as possible by minimising numbers in the changing rooms and sanitising touch points between sessions.

Please note: All users are still encouraged to arrive pool-ready but changing rooms will be open beforehand. Access for all public sessions will now be through the changing rooms and you will be able to access these before your session starts. Please note you will not be able to enter poolside until the session starts.

Future Plans

From September 2021 bookable swim sessions will run back-to-back throughout the day with no closure for cleaning breaks between bookable sessions. We promise that making our swim sessions more accessible and expanding our aquatic timetable will not come at the expense of customer safety. Our teams will still regularly deep clean all touch points throughout the day and monitor the cleanliness of changing rooms.

We look forward to gradually and safely welcoming more customers back into our swimming pools.

We would like to thank you for your support and hope that you will welcome these new changes and our cautious step back to reality. If you have any feedback for us please email exmouthswimschool@ledleisure.co.uk. Thank you!

From 19th July, the basket system will be removed, and we will be reopening our lockers for you to use. These lockers require a £1 coin or token.

Our teams will continue to clean through the day and there will always be a team member off poolside monitoring the cleanliness of the changing rooms. Lane swim sessions will be 45 minutes long whilst Swim for All and FunSplash sessions will be 60 minutes long. You are welcome to arrive and leave as you please within this time slot. For those wanting a longer swim, you will be welcome to book back-to-back sessions where there is space.
