Our Survey Results

We recently surveyed LED members asking for feedback on whether they prefer bookable gym/swim sessions or walk-ins, and the preferred length of gym/swim sessions. We would like to thank every member who took the time to complete this survey. 

Our team have carefully considered this feedback, along with qualitative feedback collected from member emails, comment cards and online reviews and have developed a hybrid booking system which will be implemented from Monday 19th July.

Survey Results

59% of LED members surveyed prefer the commitment and routine from booking gym sessions in advance whilst 41% prefer the flexibility of walk-ins. The overwhelming majority of LED gym users prefer gym sessions to be 60 minutes.

60-minute bookable gym sessions

Based on your feedback we have decided to keep our 60-minute bookable sessions in the gym. Many LED members have now made their regular bookable gym slot part of their weekly routine and suggest the commitment of having a booking motivates them to get to the gym even after a tough day at the office.

Booking in advance via the LED Leisure app also guarantees members a space whilst the capacity in our gyms remain limited.

From Monday 19th July bookable gym sessions will run back-to-back throughout the day with no closure for cleaning breaks between bookable sessions.

We promise that making our bookable gym sessions more flexible will not come at the expense of member safety. Our teams will still regularly deep clean all equipment and touch points throughout the day and will now perform cleaning tasks around members. We ask all members for their patience with our teams whilst we adapt to this change.


We also understand that many LED members prefer the flexibility of walk-in gym sessions. We are pleased to now accept walk-in bookings for the gym at our leisure centres.

Please note, capacity in our leisure centres will still be limited. Whilst we slowly return to maximum occupancy we may have to ask walk-in members to wait a short period on arrival for another member to leave if our gym is at full capacity.

Our survey was sent via notifications on the LED Leisure app and was available to complete via iPads at our centre reception desks. Make sure to look out for future notifications on the LED Leisure app to participate in future surveys.
