COVID-19 Safety Measures at LED

LED are incredibly pleased to welcome back many of our members to our gyms, swimming pools, courts and halls from Monday 12th April. It is amazing to see our customers back working towards their health and fitness goals safely in accordance with guidelines from industry body UK Active.

We appreciate some members may have reservations about returning to our centres due to safety concerns. In this blog, we would like to assure these members and the wider public that leisure centres are safe whilst providing a reminder of the measures we have put in place.

Gyms, pools and leisure centres across the UK have demonstrated further evidence of low prevalence of COVID-19 in their facilities, with new data showing an overall rate of just 1.7 cases per 100,000 visits.

Centre Safety

We've included an extensive range of additional precautionary measures to ensure your health and safety at this time. We want to reassure our members and customers, that looking after you, along with our staff, is our number one priority.

Face Masks

Customers and staff will be required to wear face masks when entering the facilities and in all public communcal areas i.e. reception.lobby, corridoors and open plan changing rooms (but not cublicles). Masks may be removed when entering activity areas (i.e. the gym, studio or pool) and to be reinstated on leaving the activity area.

Social Distancing

Customers and staff are required to maintain social distancing in our leisure centres. Frequent posters and floor marking remind members to maintain social distancing in our reception areas, walk ways and activity areas. Our team have also set-up a one way route in and out of our centres to prevent congestion in communal areas.

We have reduced the capacity in our gyms, studios and pools to comply with social distancing guidelines.

Hand Sanitiser

Hand sanitiser is located in all areas throughout our leisure centre for both customer and staff use. We ask all customers and staff to use hand sanitiser when entering and exiting our facilities.

Enhanced Cleaning

We have reduced the duration of our classes and gym bookable sessions to allow for additional cleaning of equipment, surfaces and touch points.

Contactless Payment

Customers are asked to use contactless payment methods such as debit/credit card when purchasing a PAYG product in our centres.

Ventillation

Our teams have ensured our gyms and swimming pool are well ventilated in accordance with government guidelines.

Gym

Ready to train? Here's what you need to know:

Members should book their 60-minute gym session via the LED app. Walk-ins are permitted if spaces are available, however we strongly advise booking ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Non-members are very welcome and just need to register for a pay as you go account via the LED app.

  • Please arrive in your workout clothes, ready to train and leave any bags in available lockers.
  • Please bring your own water bottle and refill using our dispensers on site.
  • Due to social distancing the gym will look a little different as we have had to remove a number of pieces of equipment. This will include relocation of some gym equipment into other areas such as squash courts and sports hall.
  • When you arrive our health and wellbeing coaches or reception teams will be ready to meet you and check you into the centre. Our coaches will also be in the gyms to ensure social distancing is maintained and help you with anything you might need.
  • Please maintain social distancing in our gym spaces and follow any one-way system signage.
  • Please spend a maximum of 10 minutes on each piece of equipment.
  • Once you are finished with a piece of kit please clean it down using the disposable paper towels and anti-viral spray.

We are pleased to announce all wellbeing coaches have completed the COVID rehabilitation course in collaboration with Future Fit Training. The course focuses on rehabilitating any members who may have had COVID-19 safely back to exercise.

Swimming

Ready to swim? Here's what you need to know:

Members should book their swimming session via the LED app or online. Walk-ins are permitted if spaces are available, however we strongly advise booking ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Non-members are very welcome and just need to register for a pay as you go account via the LED app.

All swimmers must arrive ‘pool ready’ and line up outside the centre 5 minutes prior to lesson start time. On arrival, please collect a sanitised basket and place all shoes and socks inside before entering poolside.

Due to the amount of time children have had out of lessons, swimmers at Exmouth and Honiton in Stage 2 and below are expected to be accompanied by an adult in the pool. Swimmers in Sidmouth in stage 1 and below may need to be accompanied by an adult in the pool when appropriate.

Please note, only 1 parent/guardian is permitted per child aged under 8 years. Children over 8 years do not require a parent/guardian in the building during their lesson. Parents/guardians should find a socially distanced space around poolside to watch their child’s lesson from whilst refraining from using mobile phones for safeguarding reasons.

Changing rooms are available after your lesson at Exmouth and Sidmouth only (NOT Honiton), but we kindly ask you to minimise time spent in changing rooms to allow us time to fully sanitise between sessions.

*Times and dates in the above video may vary from above text. Please refer to above text for up to date information.
