Earlier this month, Peter Gilpin - CEO of LED Leisure - competed in 4 events at the European Masters Swimming Championships which took place in Kranj, Slovenia.
In his two backstroke events, Peter was the highest placed British competitor and came 5th overall in his age group in the 50m and 6th in the 100m event. He also finished 11th and 15th in the 50m and 100m freestyle events.
Peter, who is a lifelong competitive swimmer and regularly trains at Exmouth Leisure Centre and competes for Exmouth Swimming Club's Masters section, said:
"It was a great experience to compete at this level and I'm very pleased to have achieved a 'top ten' placing in my two main events. Slovenia is a beautiful country which made the experience even more enjoyable".
Peter is back in training for the national masters championships in Sheffield at the end of October, attending the LED Swimfit sessions at Exmouth Leisure Centre that are open to the public for organised swimming fitness training, coached by Bob Clarke.
