Beginner Swimmers Sport Relief Challenge

It's never too late to learn to swim!

A group of swimmers who have been attending our adult beginner swimming lessons at Honiton Leisure Centre have recently been raising money for Sport Relief by putting their newly learned swimming skills to the test.

The Friday beginners started as non-swimmers many of whom had a fear of water. They have made terrific progress since then in front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke and are keen to learn butterfly too. One of them, Jan Taylor, who is in her 70s, thought it would be a good idea to challenge themselves by raising money for Sports Relief. She recruited Sharon and Doug Trickett, Chris Nelis and Jane Morgan. Between them they swam over a mile (400m each) and raised over £150.

Our swimming teachers Trudi & Kathy are extremely proud of their acheivement, they are all proof that it is never too late to learn to swim.

If you want to learn to swim, we have lessons available for Non-Swimmers, Beginners & Improvers on a Monday evening & Friday morning. For more information call Honiton Leisure Centre 01404 42325.
