Seaton Fitness Centre is Set to Celebrate it’s First Birthday!
Seaton Fitness Centre celebrates its first birthday on Saturday 18th November and we would like you to join in the celebrations over the whole weekend!
It was one year ago that the fantastic new centre first opened on the site of the old Grove Nightclub. The Fitness Centre, which includes a 35 station gym and group exercise studio, is located on the first floor of the Grove development that was built by Axminster Properties Limited, a Trust fund set up by Axminster Power Tools
Seaton Fitness Centre has proved a huge hit, both with local residents and visitors, and currently has over 600 members, LED Area Manager, Marcus Allen said
The gym has really taken off in Seaton, and we are making the most of the space that the facility offers. The team of gym and class instructors have established a very good rapport with our customers and it really is a fun and motivating environment in which to exercise
In addition to the gym, The Fitness Centre offers 45 group exercise classes a week. Cardio sessions, Studio Cycling and Step are all on the programme, alongside core-based workouts like Yoga and Pilates. There are also three of the internationally renowed Les Mills classes – Body Pump, Body Combat and Body Balance!
With health high on the political agenda both at Westminster and locally, it is reassuring to hear the positive impact Seaton Fitness Centre is having on people’s lives. For some it has helped to give them a new lease of life. One customer, Linda Jordan, wished to share her experience. She was recently suffering with health problems which affected her travelling too far from home. The support offered by the team at Seaton Fitness Centre has helped her to not only lose weight, but also gain a new confidence and sense of freedom
Seaton’s anniversary coincides with the publication of a study by UK Active which highlights how public leisure facilities in Britain contribute more than £3.3 billion a year to health, wellbeing, education and reducing crime. The full report can be found here
LED’s Vanessa Loader, who leads on the GP exercise referral programme at Seaton Fitness Centre said
We currently have 17 people enrolled on the exercise referral programme. It is a 12 week rolling programme, so we’ve seen a number of people move on to become regular gym users and lead healthier lifestyles as result. Over the last 12 months we’ve seen over 80 people pass through our referral scheme
In addition to Pulse, Vanessa also covers cardiac rehab and cancer rehab sessions
To celebrate a fantastic first year, the team at Seaton Fitness Centre are inviting customers to help raise money for Children in Need on Friday 17th November. There will be a treadmill half-marathon challenge, plus a special fancy dress circuit class in the evening!
The team will also be offering party bags to the first 100 customers who come in on Saturday 18th November
If that's not enough we also have a special joining offer for any new customers over the weekend! Andif you're already with us at LED and a friend or family member joins up and mentions your name you will receive one month FREE!
