Summer Tennis Success for players and coaches at Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre


What an incredibly busy and successful summer players and coaches from Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre have had this summer.

Over thirty players from Exmouth competed in various events, from players experiencing their first taste of competition to County Champions, National competitions and former members of East Devon Tennis Academy representing Great Britain in the World Student Games.

Congratulations to everyone who has been part of the summer tournament programme, from players on court to parents and coaches for their time and commitment, it’s been a great summer.

A few highlights of the summer include:

Zac Brown County 12 and under Champ and 14 & under runner up

Darcie Morton County 12 & under Champ

Findlay Robertson County (Somerset) 12 & under Champ & 14 & under runner up

Maya Ichim County 10 & under Champ

Ryan McCann County 8 & Under Champ and 9 & under runner up

Isabelle Marks County 8 & under Champ

Lucas Urquiza County 12 & under runner-up

Ollie Roper County 10 & under runner-up

Plus….. Zac Brown and Ben Johnston competed in the 12 & under Nationals.

East Devon Tennis Centre boys 12 & under team reached the final of the National Aegon Team Championships and came 3rd in the Country.

Lucas Urquiza, Ollie Sasha-Honey and Lauren McGinnis qualified for the National Road to Wimbledon Championships held at Wimbledon.

Former East Devon Tennis Academy players Jack Findel-Hawkins and Emma Hurst represented Great Britain in the World Student Games and won a doubles silver medal.
