Why should I try HIIT?


It’s efficient – HIIT  or High Intensity Interval Training - is perfect for a busy person.  You can fit a HIIT workout before work or even during a lunch break.  It consists of short burst of high energy exercises combined with recovery breaks

You’ll burn more fat  – If you work out to your highest intensity possible, you will  not only burn calories during the session but also for hours afterwards.  You can burn more calories in 24 hours after one session of HIIT than you would if you went for a steady paced run!

You’ll build a healthier heart – Studies have shown that after 8 weeks of pushing your heart rate up to the anaerobic zone - the high intensity zone - on a regular basis, you will find yourself able to do your favourite aerobic exercise for longer than before!

No need for equipment – Whilst steps, bikes and treadmills are great for HIIT training, the best kind of exercises are body weight exercises like press ups and squats, plus cardio exercises such as high knees, burpees and jumping lunges

You’ll increase your metabolism – In addition to increased fat burning, HIIT stimulates production of your human growth hormone - HGH - during the 24 hours after you finish your workout.  This is great news as HGH is not only responsible for increased calorie burn but also slows down the aging process
